Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is the most common form of anxiety. It is normal for everyone to get stressed out and worry about their daily lives, but a person is diagnosed with GAD if their worrying affects their ability to function in everyday life. Those with GAD usually worry most about their career, health, finances, family, and friends. Besides feeling worried other symptoms of GAD include: feeling irritable, increased heart rate, heavy breathing, feeling weak, difficulty sleeping, difficulty concentrating, and gastrointestinal tract problems. Those who have GAD find that it is very difficult to navigate through life with it. If you feel that you have GAD the best thing you can do is talk to someone that you trust to get to the root of your problem and see if you can find a solution to lessen your anxiety. If you still are still struggling then you might want to consider cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This type of therapy is a type of talk therapy in which you work with a medial professional to become aware of your negative thinking and you work with them to reach the most effect solutions to your problems. You will usually attend multiple sessions so your therapist can track your progress and make adjustments as necessary.
